Air Fryer Apple Fritters
These apple fritters made in an air fryer are very unique. They taste just like classic apple fritters, but healthier, and they just take a few minutes to prepare! And the ideal finishing touch is the gooey sugary glaze.
In addition to having the ideal texture, these tiny fellas offer incredibly harmonious flavors. We have apples, applesauce (which can easily be used in place of eggs), cinnamon, and a traditional glaze.
So go ahead and make some of these fritters on a cool fall day and savor them—preferably with a big cup of coffee! But good luck with just one!

128g or ½ cup of unsweetened applesauce

One large apple, chopped and peeled

180g (1½ cups) of sifted powdered sugar
Two to three teaspoons of your preferred milk

Two teaspoons of baking powder, one and a half cups (222g) of gluten-free flour blend, one teaspoon of fine sea salt, and one teaspoon of cinnamon
2. Combine the sugar and melted butter in a different basin. Stir to combine the milk, applesauce, and vanilla extract.
⅓ cup (67g) of granulated sugar, 3 tablespoons (42g) of unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, ¼ cup (128g) of unsweetened applesauce, and ¼ cup (60ml) of milk of choice
3. Add the dry ingredients and stir until incorporated. Add the apples and fold.
One big apple
4. Apply cooking spray sparingly to the air fryer basket. Set the air fryer’s temperature to 400°F. Once hot, fill the basket with mounds of batter, each about ¼ cup in size. Avoid packing the fritters too full. Cook for five to six minutes. While the fritters are still heated, glaze them.
Glaze:
Combine the milk and powdered sugar in a medium-sized bowl. Drizzle the warm fritters with a good amount of glaze.
One-half cup (180g) powdered sugar and two to three teaspoons of your preferred milk
Remarks
Although every air fryer is unique, I usually only let mine preheat for two to three minutes.
You might want to work in batches, depending on how big your air fryer is. Just make sure the fritters aren’t packed too full.

Health Information
Although apple fritters are a tasty treat, they may be rather decadent, particularly if they are deep-fried. By lowering the quantity of oil used, air frying provides a healthier substitute that is lower in fat and calories. The following summarizes the health advantages and factors to take into account when preparing apple fritters in an air fryer:
Reduced in Calories and Fat:
Because traditional apple fritters are deep-fried, their fat and calorie content is greatly increased. You may significantly cut down on oil usage by air-frying, which will produce a lighter dish with fewer calories and fat.
Increased Fiber:
Apples, particularly the skin, are a fantastic source of fiber. Apples provide your fritters an additional dose of dietary fiber, which promotes better digestion and prolongs feelings of fullness.
Regulated Sugar Content:
Although apple fritters do contain sugar, the amount of sugar added to the batter and glaze can be more precisely controlled when air-frying. You may make the fritters a little healthier by adding natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup instead of added sugar.
Packed with Nutrients:
Apples are a great source of antioxidants and vitamins like C, which boost immunity and shield the body from oxidative stress. Compared to highly processed treats, apples’ natural sweetness can also satiate your sugar cravings in a more wholesome manner.
Control of Portion Size:
Portion control is made easy by the air fryer’s ability to produce exactly sized, tiny fritters. This enables you to delight without consuming excessive amounts of unhealthy food.
Cooking Tips
Pick the Correct Apples:
Firm, somewhat tart apples, such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, provide the finest flavor and texture. These apples provide a pleasant combination of sweetness and acidity in the fritters and hold up well when cooked.
Use a Light Hand with Oil:
Although deep-frying uses a lot more oil than air-frying, a light oil spray gives the fritters a beautiful, crispy finish. Before air-frying, lightly cover the fritters with oil using a brush or a spray bottle.
Avoid Overmixing the Batter:
Take care not to overmix the fritter batter when making it. Fritters that are overmixed may be thick. To maintain a light and airy texture, gently whisk the ingredients until they are barely blended.
Preheat the Air Fryer:
Before adding the fritters to your air fryer, preheat it for a few minutes to guarantee that they cook evenly and get crispy. This step improves the results and helps to get the cooking process started right away.
Don’t Overcrowd the Basket:
Avoid packing the basket too full by arranging the fritters in a single layer with enough room between them. If the air fryer basket is overcrowded, the fritters may cook unevenly and become soggy or less crispy.
Keep an Eye on the Cooking Time:
Because different kinds of air fryers have different cooking times, it’s crucial to inspect the fritters halfway through. This guarantees even cooking and lets you change the cooking time if needed. Apple fritters are usually cooked in an air fryer for 8 to 10 minutes at 350°F.
Create a Simple Glaze:
Your apple fritters will look better with a simple glaze made with milk and powdered sugar. Once the fritters have cooled a little, drizzle it over the top to give them the ideal sweet finish.
Allow the Fritters to Cool:
Place the air-fried fritters on a wire rack to cool slightly. This allows any extra moisture to escape, keeping them from getting soggy.
Conclusion
Apple fritters made in an air fryer are a tasty and healthier substitute for the classic deep-fried variety. These fritters provide a lighter alternative without compromising flavor by using less oil. They are the ideal treat for anyone who like to indulge in a favorite dessert without feeling guilty since they offer the proper balance of sweet, tangy apples and crispy, golden texture. These healthy cooking instructions and suggestions will help you make a pleasant and nutritious batch of apple fritters in the air fryer. Everyone in your home will enjoy these fritters whether they are served as a snack, breakfast, or dessert!
